Ingredients

  • 2 Pie Shell (9 Inch)
  • 4 cups Apples peeled
  • 2 cups Red Grapes seedless
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup Raspberry Jam
  • 2 tablespoons Tapioca quick cook
  • 1 Tbsp Orange Zest grated
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 dash Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Margarine or butter

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400° f (200° c).
  2. Prepare pie crust. In large bowl, combine all ingredients, except margarine; toss lightly.
  3. Spoon apple mixture into pastry lined pie plate; dot with margarine.
  4. Top with remaining pastry; fold top of pastry under bottom pastry.
  5. Flute edge; cut slits in several places.
  6. Bake at 400° f (200° c) for 45 to 55 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden.
  7. Place pan on foil or cookie sheet during baking to guard against spilling.
  8. Tip: Cover edge of crust with foil during last 10 to 15 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning.
